Following evaluation and feedback on the new weekday schedules introduced on c2c routes from Monday 11 December c2c, it has been decided that the previous weekday timetable will be restored with effect from Monday 8 January 2007. The benefits of the new weekend timetable, however, will be retained.
c2c Managing Director Mark Hopwood said The peak timetable introduced on 11 December has not been well received by many of our customers and we feel that it is right to withdraw it and to revert to the previous timetable at the earliest possible opportunity. The new (11 December) timetable does, however, incorporate a number of improvements at weekends, including through trains to Southend via Ockendon. These will remain in force.
We are sorry that many of our customers have been upset by the recent changes and we are responding to their concerns by reverting to the old timetable. At the same time we will continue to explore ways to make real improvements to the peak timetable and we are starting with the strengthening, from 4 to 8, carriages of two weekday peak trains from Fenchurch Street to Stanford-le-Hope via Ockendon: the 1620 and the 1822 departures. This will also take effect from 8 January.
