Are e-scooters and similar allowed on c2c trains?

From 4 September 2023, e-scooters (and similar devices such as e-hoverboards and e-unicycles) will not be permitted on c2c services. This is in line with other transport operators in the UK and is in response to safety concerns regarding improperly maintained batteries and fire risks.

Electric wheelchairs, mobility scooters and e-bikes are still permitted on c2c services. E-bikes are allowed as they are legal to use in the UK and are manufactured in line with the Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles (EAPC) standard.
