This year the Christmas market scene is bigger than ever, with their popularity growing each winter. So whether you want to explore the rustic wooden chalets and festive stalls, or would rather a warmer trip to the Christmas draped malls, we’ve got you covered. Take a look below at some of our favourite places to go along our route this holiday season.

Winter Wonderland Angel’s Market, Hyde Park

The biggest and brightest of London’s Christmas markets is back again for its 12th year running. There’s something for everyone here at the free to enter Winter Wonderland site where you can also browse the 200 fairy-lit Bavarian style wooden chalets; including jewellery, clothes, decorations and treasures a plenty to gift to friends and family. It’s the kind of place you never want to leave!

Nearest c2c station: West Ham, then change for Jubilee Line to Green Park, then Piccadilly line to Knightsbridge

29 November 2018 – 2 January 2019

Arguably one of the most picture perfect spots for an iconic Christmas market experience, the 68 chalet styled stalls are sprinkled along the backdrop of a wintered London Bridge and River Thames. Indulge in the wholesome food and warm drinks as you find your way through the amazing boutique stalls selling an array of perfect presents for your loved ones. Also check for events and workshops open throughout the season.

Nearest c2c station: Fenchurch Street then walk across Tower Bridge (about an 18 minute walk to the market)

Southbank Centre Winter Festival & Christmas Market

9 November 2018 – 27 December 2018

Southbank Centre sees its international status as one of the top hotspots in the Christmas cold continue for another year running. With dozens of traders from around the world serving up a festive feast of street food and pop-up bar cocktails, experience the buzz by the bank in all its glory as it lights up at night. You can also wine and dine in the extremely popular private Alpine igloos for an even more fantastical experience (book early to avoid disappointment).

Historically renowned for its electrifying atmosphere and entertainment, Christmas is no exception for Leicester Square. There will be a European inspired theme to the market as the central gardens are transformed into a magical non-stop parade of shows, carols and comedy. Not too forgetting the various artisan stalls to find some unique gifts for yourself and others.

This yuletide market may not be open all day every day, it closes around 8pm, however it’s definitely quality over quantity for Greenwich at Christmas. Discover hundreds of unique arts and crafts gifts perfect for those ‘a little different’ presents. Enjoy seasonal songs played out as market goers breathe in the winter smells of mulled wine and roasted street food, all underneath the hundreds of twinkling lights and decorations.
