The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe, The Bridge
16 December – 5 January
A version of the C. S. Lewis classic for our times. Held at the stunning Bridge theatre across from Tower Hill, step through the wardrobe into the magical kingdom of Narnia for fantastical adventures in a faraway land. Say hello to a talking Faun, an unforgettable Lion and the coldest, cruellest White Witch.

English National Ballet’s Nutcracker, London Coliseum
11 December – 5 January
Is there anything more magical than the Nutcracker ballet at Christmas? Set on a sparkling Christmas Eve in a frost-dusted Edwardian London, Clara and her enchanted Nutcracker doll discover a magical world, where she battles with the Mouse King and meets a handsome stranger. And that’s just the beginning of the adventure. Book this show asap as it sells out fast every year.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears, London Palladium
7 December – 11 January
Despite the tale of Goldilocks, the three bears and those famous bowls of porridge not being the typical Christmas pantomime – alas, here it is! And with some rather famous faces to boot. Julian Clarey, Matt Baker and Nigel Havers are this year joined by the one and only Paul O’Grady as the Evil Ringmaster (we must have missed that part of the story).
Nearest c2c station: Fenchurch Street, change for Central Line at Liverpool Street to Oxford Circus
Robin Hood, Cliffs Pavilion
13 December – 4 January
Following their record-breaking Cliffs Pavilion pantomime debut in Aladdin last year, Ashley Banjo and Diversity are back to star in this year’ must-see show, Robin Hood and the Merry Men, and are joined by renowned musician, actor and comedian Kev Orkian.
A Christmas Carol, The Old Vic
29 November – 18 January
Returning yet again for another year, A Christmas Carol at the Old Vic is a thrilling adaptation that sees you fully immersed in the story with its unique staging as it comes face to face with you, quite literally. With music, mince pies and a whole host of larger than life characters; Charles Dickens’ story of life and loss still remains a classic.

Dick Whittington, Royal Theatre Stratford East
