Purfleet station is between Grays and Rainham stations in South Essex on the Thames. Purfleet town has a rich military history to explore, with intu Lakeside shopping centre and RSPB Rainham Marshes nature reserve both nearby.

There are no lifts at the station, but step free access is available to both platforms via the level crossing/ramps. Accessible ticket machines and an induction loop are available. Impaired mobility set down is available outside the station entrance. National key toilets are not available.

Places to go
Purfleet has the only remaining gunpowder magazine which is now part of the Garrison Heritage and Military Centre. The museum is open to the public on Thursdays, Sundays and on bank holidays. The town is also the where anti-aircraft gunners shot down a German zeppelin in WWI. If you love culture, check out the High House Production Park, a centre for creative skills and artists. Birdwatchers will love Rainham Marches, an RSPB nature reserve where you can spot many rare birds.
