c2c is advising customers to plan ahead and be flexible with their travel plans over Christmas and New Year.
Due to engineering work between Fenchurch Street and Upminster, there will no services from Fenchurch Street to Upminster on Christmas Eve and on Wednesday 27 December and Monday 1 January 2024 until 14:30. Rail replacement buses will run between Upminster and Grays on these days.
c2c Managing Director Rob Mullen, said: “Network Rail’s orange army will be working hard over the festive season to keep the railway running reliably for passengers. We’re encouraging our customers to plan ahead, check before they travel and be flexible with their plans.”
c2c services: Week commencing 18 December
- Monday 18 to Friday 22 December: We will be running our current Monday-Friday timetable.
- Saturday 23 December: We will be running our usual Saturday service
- Sunday 24 December (Christmas Eve):
- Due to engineering works, there are no services running from Fenchurch Street to Upminster or Fenchurch Street to Grays via Rainham. Fenchurch Street station will be closed on this day.
- Customers will need to use the District Line for travel between London, Barking and Upminster
- Customers can travel on c2c services from Upminster with two trains per hour via Basildon to Shoeburyness and two trains an hour from Upminster to Shoeburyness via Ockendon/Tilbury
- Replacement buses will replace trains between Grays, Purfleet, Rainham and Upminster
There will be ticket acceptance with TfL between Tower Hill and Upminster - All c2c services will finish at 23:00.
- Monday 25 December (Christmas Day): There are no c2c trains operating on Christmas Day.
- Tuesday 26 December (Boxing Day): There are no c2c trains operating on Boxing Day.
- Wednesday 27 December (Bank holiday):
- Due to engineering works, there are no services running from Fenchurch Street to Upminster or Fenchurch Street to Grays via Rainham. Fenchurch Street station will be closed on this day however the last service will run as per the usual timetable.
- Customers will need to use the District Line for travel between London, Barking and Upminster
- Customers can travel on c2c services from Upminster with two trains per hour via Basildon to Shoeburyness and two trains an hour from Upminster to Shoeburyness via Ockendon/Tilbury
- Replacement buses will replace trains between Grays, Purfleet, Rainham and Upminster
- There will be ticket acceptance with TfL between Tower Hill and Upminster
- Thursday 28 December to Friday 29 December: A special service will be in operation running based on our usual Saturday service with some additional morning peak extras
- Saturday 30 December: We will be running our usual Saturday service.
- Sunday 31 December (New Year’s Eve): We will be running our usual Sunday service. Details of last trains can be found here (PDF).
- Monday 1 January (New Year’s Day):
- Until 14:30: Due to engineering works, there are no services running from Fenchurch Street to Upminster or Fenchurch Street to Grays via Rainham.
c2c services will start and terminate at Upminster - Replacement buses will replace trains between Grays, Purfleet, Rainham and Upminster
From 14:30 to 23:30: Limehouse to Upminster stations only will be closed - c2c services to Fenchurch Street will be diverted via Stratford.
- Shuttle services will operate between Upminster and Grays via Ockendon and between Upminster and Pitsea via Laindon.
- Until 14:30: Due to engineering works, there are no services running from Fenchurch Street to Upminster or Fenchurch Street to Grays via Rainham.
- Tuesday 2 January to Thursday 4 January: We are running a normal service until approx 23:30.
- Between 23:30 and 04:45, c2c services will terminate at Barking, or will be diverted into Liverpool Street via Rainham due to engineering works.
- A shuttle service will operate between Upminster and Grays via Ockendon
- There will be ticket acceptance with TfL between Tower Hill and Barking/Upminster.
- Friday 5 January: We are running a normal service.
