Hares about Town

Join us in celebrating the colourful Hares About Town public art event taking place in Southend from 1 July for 10 weeks. All money raised will be in support of local charity, Havens Hospices.

We’re delighted to be the presenting partner for this charity-led event which will see 30 hare sculptures placed around Southend creating a free, fun, family-friendly trail for local people and visitors to explore and enjoy!

Download the Hares about Town app

The Hares About Town app is available to download from the App store and Google Play store for £1.99 which is donated in full to Havens Hospices.

Having the app will really bring the Hares About Town art trail to life, as you can use it to collect a variety of rewards at each hare you visit. A trail map is also available on the app so you know exactly where to go to visit each hare, and keep track of the hares you have already seen.

Our special c2c Hares

We will have two uniquely painted hares located on the trail, Leporum Fisher and Rocky.

Leporum Fisher was designed and painted by celebrated artist, the late Paul Karslake. With numerous solo exhibitions, Paul became famous for his depictions of celebrities such as the Rolling Stones, Johnny Depp, Michael Caine and Grace Kelly.

Leporum Fisher can be found near Chalkwell station and Rocky will be near Southend station from 1 July.
