London tickets explained

There are different ways you can travel to and from London: you can buy U-Zone paper tickets between c2c stations and London Underground stations, add a Travelcard with Anytime or Off-Peak tickets, or Contactless / Oyster if you’re only going to be travelling within London. You can buy U-Zone tickets and Travelcards from our app, website, and ticket vending machines at our stations.

U-Zone Tickets

If you’re travelling with c2c to London and want to travel further within the city, you can buy single and return paper tickets to/from London Underground stations from our app, website, and ticket vending machines at our stations. U-Zone tickets are not currently available on the c2c Smartcard.

Travelcard

If you’re buying an Anytime or Off-Peak rail ticket to London, it may be cheaper to buy a Peak or Off-Peak Travelcard for travel within London. A London Zone 1 – 6 Travelcard is also available on your c2c Smartcard.

Contactless & Oyster

We recommend that you travel with contactless or Oyster if you are travelling solely within zones 1 – 6 and the extended Oyster PAYG area (for example, journeys between Upminster and Fenchurch Street).

How can I buy a London U-Zone ticket?

1
Check TfL zone

Find out which London Underground zone your destination station is in. TfL have a helpful tube map here. Westminster is in Zone 1 for example.

2
Enter Zone U

Using our app, website or ticket machines, enter “Zone U*** London”, and select the option which covers all the zones you need to travel through.

3
For example

As an example, if you were travelling to Westminster tube station you would enter “Zone U1234 London”.

4
Buy tickets

Buy your tickets as you normally would! You’ll need to opt to collect them at the station (or have them posted to you).
