01 March 2026 •
As announced by the Government last November, rail customers in England are already benefiting from a rail fares freeze – the first of its kind in 30 years – as of 1 March 2026 and running through until March 2027. This means our Essex-based customers will continue to pay the same great c2c prices for a whole extra year!*
Changes to fares set by Transport for London
Some c2c pay as you go with contactless fares which are set and managed by TfL – these affect customers travelling within Zones 1 – 6 on the c2c network – have seen a price increase from 1 March of around 10 – 20p per journey. However, Adult Travelcards, along with Adult daily and weekly contactless caps, are also frozen until 2027.
Full details of the changes being made to TfL fares from 1 March can be found here.
*The fares freeze applies to c2c season tickets, Anytime singles, returns and Travelcards, Off Peak singles, returns and Travelcards, Senior Rover, GroupSave and Kids for £2.
