Charities and Support
Abuse isn’t always physical; it can also be psychological, emotional, or financial. Galop (formerly the Broken Rainbow National Helpline) offers emotional and practical support for LGBT individuals facing domestic abuse.
Figure it out is South East Essex’s newest charity for LGBTQ+ youth. They currently provide monthly peer support sessions at the Southend Forum Library. The charity provides environments for LGBTQ+ people to be themselves, which is especially important when they feel they can’t in their day-to-day lives.
