What is the c2c luggage guidance?

You may bring up to three items of luggage when travelling with us. Please refer to the item dimensions specified below. Ensure your luggage is properly packed, does not obstruct doorways or aisles, and is not placed in spaces reserved for wheelchairs. Only bring luggage that you can manage and carry yourself without assistance unless you are elderly or disabled and using our assisted travel services.

Be aware that other train companies may have different luggage policies, so please check their websites for details before you travel. Assisted travel services are available for older and disabled customers and can be booked in advance through Passenger Assist or at the station on the day of travel. However, some staff may not be able to carry heavy items. If you are connecting to other train operators or London Underground services, please note that their policies on luggage assistance may differ. For more information, visit the National Rail website to check individual train companies’ policies.

Luggage Guideline dimensions:

  • Item 1: Small Handbag/Tote Bag
  • Item 2: Cabin Size Bag/Rucksack (under 10kg)
  • Item 3: Medium Suitcase (not exceeding 1 metre x 1 metre and a maximum weight of 20kg) available for older and disabled customers and can be booked in advance through Passenger Assist or at the station on the day of travel. However, some staff may not be able to carry heavy items. If you are connecting to other train operators or London Underground services, please note that their policies on luggage assistance may differ. For more information, visit the National Rail website to check individual train companies’ policies.

Although the National Rail Conditions of Travel (NRCOT) states that you can carry up to three items, you should only take this amount if you can comfortably manage the luggage yourself. Our priority is to assist you to board and alight our trains.
