Hot weather: Tuesday 23 to Friday 26 June

The Met Office has issued a red weather warning for this week. Extremely hot weather can cause a multitude of issues on the rail network including sagging overhead lines, buckled rails and lineside fires and as such there is a risk of severe disruption to services across the c2c route.

If you are travelling with us this week disruption is expected due to heat related speed restrictions which may cause short notice delays and cancellations. We strongly recommend you travel earlier in the day if you can, keep flexible and check before you travel.

If you are travelling with us Wednesday 24, Thursday 25 or Friday 26 please only travel if it is absolutely necessary.

If you have to travel during this period of exceptional heat please also carry a bottle of water at all times and if you feel unwell on board one of our trains, we recommend you seek help at the next station.

To help minimise the disruption to services we have cancelled some trains Thursday 25 and Friday 26.

If you have a c2c ticket dated Tuesday 23, Wednesday 24, Thursday 25 or Friday 26 June, you can use your ticket on any c2c service up to and including Tuesday 30 June.

Refunds
If you no longer wish to travel, you can get a full refund from where you bought your ticket.
Please apply for your refund before 23:59 on the day before your ticket is valid.
