Have your say in c2c’s Public Consultation: ‘Committed to Communities’

05 September 2022

As part of c2c’s commitment to our customers and communities, we are launching a new project, ‘Committed to Communities.’ This is a fund focused on the needs of communities across our network and will support our customers, charities and local groups to make tangible improvements to our stations.

Under the ‘Committed to Communities’ initiative, c2c will be investing £173,000 by the end of March 2023 in community projects, with ideas proposed by customers and stakeholders influencing and driving planning for the coming years.

To ensure new initiatives bring the most benefit to our communities, we have launched a Public Consultation, calling for ideas. We will invest in projects across a range of themes, including conservation and the environment, employability, health and wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, cultural groups and education.

We’re asking our customers, stakeholders and colleagues to share their ideas on initiatives that will bring real customer benefits at stations across the c2c route; this could be anything from community art schemes and extra platform shelters, to station gardens and seating. In previous calls for ideas, we’ve seen our customers and stakeholders focus on green initiatives, leading to the introduction of free water refill points and supporting our commitment to the environment.

All proposals received by the deadline will be considered, with the most viable schemes which offer the most benefit to our communities submitted for review by the Department for Transport (DfT). Once a shortlist of schemes has been approved by the DfT, these projects will be implemented over a two year period from April 2023.

This consultation will run until 30 September so please submit your ideas here.
