Local rail operator c2c Railway’s Safeguarding and Security Manager, Kamaldeep (Kam) Wallis, will take on an extraordinary train pull challenge to raise vital funds for the Lady McAdden breast cancer charity.
The fundraising challenge will see Kam, the world-record holder in powerlifting for the International All- Round Weightlifting Association (IAWA), attempting to pull a 12–16 tonne steam train and carriages uphill at Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway in Kent on Wednesday 16 September as part of Lady McAdden’s “50 People, 50 Incredible Acts” campaign.
The challenge celebrates the charity’s 50th Anniversary this year, bringing together 50 people completing 50 inspiring acts to help raise awareness and funds for Essex-based Lady McAdden, which provides breast cancer advice, education, awareness and support for people before, during and after diagnosis
Kam has been training hard ahead of the event, completing several ‘practice pulls’ at the Kent railway in preparation. She hopes the challenge will encourage colleagues, friends, family and members of the public to support the charity.
Kam Wallis said:
“I’m incredibly proud to be taking on this challenge for such an important cause. This is about women supporting women, pushing boundaries, sharing stories and raising vital funds to help people affected by breast cancer. If you’re free, please come along and cheer me on – and every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference.”
c2c Railway recently supported Lady McAdden with a fundraising activity at Leigh-on-Sea station with volunteers meeting customers and raising funds through a bucket collection. As part of the partnership, Lady McAdden also installed one of its Big Pink Bra Bins at the station, giving customers and the local community an easy way to donate unwanted bras in support of the charity’s services.
Kam joined c2c’s Revenue Protection and Security team in September 2025, following almost 21 years with the British Transport Police. Kam began strongwoman training in July 2024 and later that year was named the second Strongest Female Officer. She has since competed in several competitions, achieving first and second place finishes and has also taken on a number of physical challenges in recent years, including climbing Ben Nevis and cycling 91 miles for meningitis awareness, and competing in Battle Cancer events in London.

Lady McAdden Breast Cancer Trust is an independent Essex based charity supporting individuals before, during and after a breast cancer diagnosis.
Through its specialist nurse led services and holistic wellbeing support, the charity provides accessible care to those affected, both remotely and in person. This includes one to one appointments, guidance throughout treatment, support for long-term recovery and services at the McAdden Sanctuary.
