Following a successful trial at Benfleet station, all of local rail operator c2c Railway’s station car parks have now transitioned to paperless receipts.
The roll out of paperless receipts following the successful trial at Benfleet station, which started in February, shows c2c’s commitment to continually improving customer experience. With the new system, customers are no longer at risk of paper jams, as all new receipts are digitally sent.
The shift to paperless will further enhance the seamless c2c customer journey and is in-line with c2c’s Net Zero Plan. The reduction in paper usage is stark, saving 216 rolls of paper every year at a minimum, which eliminates the need for two bulk deliveries every year.
Eleni Jordan, Commercial and Interim Customer Director, said:
“At c2c we are committed to our Net Zero programme and this is another great step in achieving that goal. The ease of which customers can still get receipts for their tickets is seamless and it takes away so many of the hands-on difficulties that can arise with paper, such as jams and printing errors.
“The very successful trial at Benfleet, which yielded zero complaints from customers, showed us that our customers are all aboard the shift to paperless and support c2c in its Net Zero journey.”
For kiosk users, the process remains the same up to the point of asking for a receipt. The paperless option will produce a simple scannable QR code on screen but also provide an email address alternative for customers to download the receipt.
The kiosks are also cashless, so all payments on the kiosk are made via card, Apple or Google pay. Additionally, customers can still pay using by using the website – c2c-parking.co.uk.
