Huge Growth in Weekend Passengers Travelling with c2c
The number of passengers travelling at weekends with National Express train operator c2c has surged by 27% in the past year.
The increase in popularity is being driven by reduced engineering work, and by more people making longer distance journeys with c2c at weekends – both from the Southend area into London, and from the capital out to the coast.
This spectacular growth is forecast to continue into August, with no engineering work throughout the whole month, the start of the football season, and sunny weather all expected to increase the number of people travelling.
This weekend c2c is adding extra carriages to four different services on Sunday to help provide more capacity for football fans travelling to the Arsenal-West Ham match at the Emirates Stadium.
