Although Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak times will vary – by both the train operator and route – the times generally fit within those listed below:
Off-Peak
Off-Peak tickets are not valid on weekdays before 09.30am. They’re not valid early evening (between 15.30pm to 19.15pm) from major cities (such as London), but they can be used on all trains at weekends and on public holidays.
Super Off-Peak
Super Off-Peak tickets are not available on c2c services
Super Off-Peak tickets are not valid on weekdays before 10.00am or early in the evening (between 16.00 to 18.00) from major cities. Tickets may not be valid on certain days.
c2c services
There are two ways to find out if Off-peak tickets are valid on a particular route. Try:
- Searching our Fares Matrix for the Journey online: Off-Peak tickets are not limited in quantity, which means they will be listed in the search results for all Journeys they’re valid on.
- Contacting the train operating company directly, since they can supply you with the most up-to-date information.
c2c operates a simple two-band Peak and Off-Peak model.
Evening
- The c2c evening peak is between 16:00 – 19:00 on Mondays to Fridays (excluding bank holidays). This applies to all services leaving from or going via a London station (Zones 1-6) during this period.
Morning
- The c2c morning peak applies to all services departing before 09:30 on Monday to Friday (excludes bank holidays).
Weekends and bank holidays
- All weekend and bank holiday travel is classified as Off-Peak.
