Load tickets directly to your Smartcard in the app
It’s a pretty snazzy feature. Basically you can use the tech in your smartphone (it’s known as NFC, near-field communication technology) to read and load tickets to your Smartcard in a jiffy. No need to wait two hours anymore before you head to the ticket gates. Simply open the c2c Train Travel App, hold your Smartcard against your phone to load and go. Watch our videos to find out more.
Disruption information before you need it, with push notifications
New for 2023, the c2c Train Travel app now offers journey update information via push notification, so you’ll get the latest, most important information about your journey straight to your phone’s home screen.
You can choose to either receive alerts about specific routes and times of day, or let us do the hard work for you and automatically notify you if a journey you bought a ticket for is going to be disrupted.
To enable push notifications
- Start the c2c Train Travel app on your phone. You’ll need to be signed into your c2c account for this.
- Press “My Account” in the bottom right of the screen
- Press “Preferences” at the top of the screen
- Press “Manage push notifications”
- Choose how you’d like to receive your notifications
- Press “Done”
And that’s all there is to it! We know that you may want to limit the number of messages you receive on your phone, so these will never be switched on by default.
No booking fees
There are no hidden booking fees when you buy train tickets through our c2c app or website. Plus, the app makes it easy to search, compare and buy the cheapest ticket for your journey.
Manage your Smartcard
Buy and load Daily, Season, and Flexi Season tickets directly to your Smartcard in the app. That includes daily tickets with any Railcard discounts you may have. You can also hold your Smartcard against your phone to view and manage your tickets.
