See a side of c2c you’ve never seen before! We’re opening the doors to our East Ham depot for one day only as part of Railway 200 celebrations across the country marking 200 years of public railways.

Taking place on the 18 October 2025, this is a unique opportunity to see behind the scenes at c2c, meet some of our team and see our fleet of trains at all angles.

East Ham depot is the home of 74 class 357 trains and 12 class 720/6 trains, undertaking all routine maintenance and repairs. Each day, all trains leaving the depot are cleaned and serviced for your daily commute or trip to the seaside and each year run around 7 million miles.

Originally opened in 1961 when the line was electrified, the depot has the facilities to replace wheels, pantographs and air conditioning modules as well as the many smaller components that make up the modern train.

We’re offering free tickets to a limited number of people, fill in your details in the form below before midnight 12 October and we’ll randomly pick and email winners their invites. Tickets will be for one winner and one guest (must be over 16 we can accommodate children if accompanied by over 18s). Please only apply if you are free to attend between 10:00 and 16:00 on the 18 October. If you haven’t heard from us by 17 October unfortunately you have not been successful.

Attendance is strictly invitation only and access to the event is only via train shuttles from Fenchurch Street station. You must be able to make your own way to and from Fenchurch Street station.

Please note this is a working depot, safety is at the forefront of everything we do, you must wear suitable closed toe footwear, be able to negotiate stairs and adhere to all safety briefings. If we feel you are acting in an unsafe manner, you will be turned away from the event. Unfortunately, the depot tour is not suited to wheelchair users or guide dogs.
