c2c line status: Good service

Timetable adjustments starting 22 May

Since the last set of adjustments in February we've been carefully monitoring every service to see how busy they are and listening to all your feedback. Therefore we've made a small number of changes which you can see in the new timetable below:

What services are changing and why? 

Services to London that have been adjusted Reason and recommendation

05.43 from Shoeburyness has had Barking stop removed at 06.33.

Reason: This train gets very busy and we don't have spare carriages to add to it at this time. This change allows more space on board this service which is already very busy before it arrives at Barking. 

Recommendations:

We suggest Barking passengers who wish to travel at this time use the District Line or check the timetable for alternative services. 

 

07.12 from Thorpe Bay has Barking stop removed at 08.05. 

Reason: This train gets very busy and we don't have spare carriages to add to it at this time. This change allows more space on board this service which is already very busy before it arrives at Barking.

Recommendation: We suggest Barking passengers who wish to travel at this time use the District Line or check the timetable for alternative services. 

08.13 from Shoeburyness has Laindon (08.43) and West Horndon (08.47) stops removed

Reason: This train gets very busy and we don't have spare carriages to add to it at this time. There is a service that calls at Laindon just four minutes later at 08.47 and that will now also call additionally at West Horndon at 08.51.

Recommendation: We suggest Laindon passengers board the 08.47 service. West Horndon passengers can board the new 08.51 service. 

08.19 from Shoeburyness now calls additionally at West Horndon at 08.51

Reason: We have removed the West Horndon stop on the 08.13 service from Shoeburyness to add the West Horndon stop to the 08.19. 

 

Services from London Fenchurch Street that have been adjusted Reason and recommendation

16.10 has been strengthened from four to eight carriages. 

Reason: To help make this service more comfortable for passengers. 

 

16.31 has had Barking stop removed at 16.47. 

Reason: This train gets very busy, especially between West Ham and Barking so we've removed the stop to alleviate crowding. 

Recommendation: Check the timetable for alternative services to Barking. Passengers that board the 16.41 from West Ham to Barking are advised to use the District Line.  

16.34 has had Barking stop removed at 16.50 and will be formed of four carriages instead of eight. 

Reason: The carriages are being used to strengthen the earlier 16.10 and this then gives us time to use them again to strengthen the 18.46 later in the peak. The Barking stop has been removed to help alleviate crowding on the service. 

Recommendation: Check the timetable for alternative services to Barking. Passengers that board the 16.44 from West Ham to Barking are advised to use the District Line.  

16.57 will call additionally at Benfleet (17.37) and Leigh-on-Sea (17.44).

Reason: Passengers for Benfleet and Leigh-on-Sea can now board this service. 

17.19 will now call all stations from West Horndon to Shoeburyness

Reason: Passengers for Southend East, Thorpe Bay and Shoeburyness can now board this service. 

17.49 has had Barking stop removed at 18.05

Reason: This train gets very busy, especially between West Ham and Barking so we've removed the stop to alleviate crowding. 

Recommendation: Check the timetable for alternative services to Barking. Passengers that board the 17.59 from West Ham to Barking are advised to use the District Line.

18.31 has had Laindon stop removed at 19.03

Reason: This train gets very busy so we've removed the stop to alleviate crowding. 

Recommendation: Passengers for Laindon are advised to travel on the 18.19 or 18.34 from Fenchurch Street as you may find your journey is more comfortable. 

18.46 has been strengthened from four to eight carriages.  Reason: To help make this service more comfortable for passengers.

We’ve been working hand-in-hand with passenger groups from across the c2c route to get feedback on our new timetable and listen to the key issues raised by passengers.
