Timetable Next Steps

So what happens next with the new timetable?

This is the biggest timetable change on c2c for many years. Last week (starting Monday 4th January) saw most people return to work after the Christmas break. We said, when we launched the new timetable that it would need several weeks for everyone – our customers, and also our employees – to test the new timetable, and find out what worked for them.

In the interim we made some important changes that took effect from Monday last week. 

Our plan now is:

  • To review the passenger count on each service for last week and this week, along with the passenger feedback and performance data, so we have the evidence from two normal working weeks on which to base our decisions
  • We are likely to make further changes, and intend to announce what these will be by the end of this week
  • If there are changes, we aim to introduce them from Monday 18th January

We know there are things we still need to put right with key services, especially to respond to the fact that in the past week we have seen 19% more passengers on trains as they leave Fenchurch Street in the evening peak compared to just three months ago.

We will continue to act in the interest of all our customers, across the c2c route. Our aims for the timetable remain to be to offer you the right choice of services, reduce crowding and improve connections at key stations.
