Switch from paper to Smart

If you already have a paper season ticket you can easily switch to c2c Smartcard by following this easy step-by-step guide:

1. Order your free Smartcard

Order your free c2c Smartcard here. You will need to upload a passport-style photo and provide us with your email address and other contact details. If you already have a c2c Smartcard, skip to step three.

2. Receive your Smartcard by post

It will normally take around five working days to receive your new c2c Smartcard

3. Complete the switch form

When you receive your c2c Smartcard a switch form will be included in the welcome pack. You can also download a copy of the switch form here.

4. Take your switch form, Smartcard, and season ticket to the station

Hand in the form, your Smartcard and season ticket to the ticket office at your ‘home’ station (including your Gold Card, if you have one). The ticket office will keep hold of your Smartcard to carry out the switch (which should take less than a week), but you can continue using your paper ticket in the mean-time.

5. Collect your Smartcard from the station

Once the switch has been completed the ticket office will contact you. You can then collect your Smartcard from the station and hand in your old paper ticket.
