c2c is running more services, longer trains and providing free travel for runners this Sunday to help everyone enjoy the London Marathon.

We have added over 15,000 seats to our normal timetable, including operating 15 extra trains into London in the morning and back from the capital after the event. A number of services are also being doubled in length on the day, and we will be running as 8-carriages instead of their usual 4-carriage length to help cope with the expected demand.

All runners participating in the Marathon can travel for free with c2c on the day by showing their runner’s number or finisher’s medal instead of a train ticket.

We have also put together a handy marathon guide offering advice on how to get to the best spots to view the action. This is available at www.c2c-online.co.uk/create-your-day-out/london-marathon-lowdown/

c2c’s new Delivery Director Laura McEwen said: “The London Marathon is one of the biggest charity events of the year and we hope our combination of extra trains and seats and free travel for runners will make it as easy as possible for everyone to get to the big event.”
