National Gallery - Monochrome: Painting in Black and White

National Gallery - Monochrome: Painting in Black and White

Exhibition Dates: 30 October 2017 – 18 February 2018

This autumn, the National Gallery invites you to see the history of art in a fresh and revealing way – Monochrome: Painting in Black and White is the first major exhibition to explore what happens when artists set aside the colour spectrum in favour of other forms of visual expression.

Old Masters such as Rembrandt and Ingres are juxtaposed with some of the most exciting contemporary artists working today, including Bridget Riley, Gerhard Richter, and an immersive light installation by Olafur Eliasson.
