100,000 Extra Seats for c2c Passengers over Easter

National Express train operator c2c is adding 100,000 extra seats to its trains this Easter to provide more capacity for passengers travelling between London and Southend.
The whole c2c network is open over Easter, with no engineering works anywhere on the route and nearly 350 trains will be doubled in length on the four days between Good Friday and Easter Monday. The extra seats are being provided on all trains that run via Basildon, to cater for the expected extra demand from passengers travelling on holidays or on day trips.
c2c is also offering a special £1 fare for children aged up to 15 during the Easter school holidays, with the tickets available on every weekday including the Bank Holidays. The children simply need to be accompanied by an adult who has bought an off-peak ticket online from c2c, and the discounts are available in both weeks of the school holidays: Monday 30 March to Friday 3 April, and Monday 6 April to Friday 10 April.
c2c Managing Director Julian Drury said: “We’re open for business this Easter, and we’re putting on hundreds of extra carriages to provide more seats for passengers. Combined with our ‘kids for a quid’ special offer throughout the school holidays, we’re expecting c2c will be a really popular option this Easter.”
c2c is running a special timetable on the two Bank Holidays over Easter which mirrors the usual Sunday service at each station.
