c2c Records the Best Rail Punctuality Performance for Over Two Years

Last month National Express train operator c2c recorded the best punctuality performance in the rail industry since September 2012, according to the latest statistics published by Network Rail.

 

c2c operated more than 10,000 individual services on time from 1st April to 2nd May, with an overall punctuality of 97.2%. Every single c2c train arrived on time on ten of the 31 days during the period.

 

Over the past year 97.2% of all c2c services have arrived on time, compared with the national average of 89.6% punctuality.

 

c2c Managing Director Julian Drury said: “As well as achieving a high overall score in the period we are also now focussing on the consistent delivery, every day, of ultra-reliability. For this reason we are very pleased to have achieved ten 100% days this period. Our customers rely on us, so achieving this is our top priority."

 

The figures published by Network Rail are the Public Performance Measure, the UK rail industry’s official measure of punctuality.
