c2c line status: Good service

Dear Customer,

I am very sorry for the delays you endured on your journey home last night (Monday 20th March).

This was caused by a lorry hitting a bridge near Benfleet in the mid-afternoon. This meant the railway line was closed for 80 minutes while Network Rail made sure it was safe for trains to run.

Until the lines re-opened we were unable to move any trains towards London for the evening peak, and our drivers were also stranded in the wrong place. As a result your services were disrupted throughout the evening.

I know this meant your journey home was a thoroughly unpleasant experience and I am truly sorry for this.

You can claim for compensation if you were delayed for 30 minutes or more with Delay Repay. Alternatively if you use the c2c Smartcard you can check your account online from tomorrow to ensure you've been automatically credited with the correct amount.
