A Customer Service Assistant role is varied and interesting, it is a vital role to our business as it provides the best opportunity to interact with our customers at all stages of their station experience. As a Ticket Office clerk your day to day duty is selling and advising customers on various ticket products and ensuring they are paying the best price for their ticket. You will also be on hand to assist on the platform helping with travel enquiries, crowd control and passenger assistance. You will also have additional behind the scenes station responsibilities – including some clerical work, station housekeeping, ensuring platform safety and maintaining gateline/ticket machines. You will be part of a station team whose commitment to the provision of a safe and enjoyable journey for all of our customers is paramount. A broad knowledge of the c2c community, route, tickets, services and products as well as that of other operators across the rail network is essential. Your ability to work under pressure and deal with sometimes difficult situations in a busy station environment with outstanding communications skills will be key to your ongoing success. We are looking for friendly, patient and quick-thinking individuals looking to join a committed and diverse workforce. As a safety critical environment you will be expected to undertake a medical (inc Drug & Alcohol screening) and training to a required standard.
You don’t need to have railway experience necessarily, training will be provided and we can offer support for your career development.
