What services are changing and why?

Peak time train services that have been adjusted Reason and recommendation

08.09 from Shoeburyness has been retimed and will also no longer call at Leigh-on-Sea, Benfleet or Barking

New departure times are Shoeburyness (08.13); Thorpe Bay (08.17); Southend East (08.19); Southend Central (08.22); Westcliff (08.24) and Chalkwell (08.27)

Reason: These changes allow enough space for Basildon and Laindon passengers to board. Leigh and Benfleet passengers have faster trains with more seats available leaving 10 mins earlier and 10 mins later instead.

Recommendations:

Leigh passengers: We suggest you take the 08.17 or 08.38 departures.
Benfleet passengers: We suggest you take the 08.22 or 08.43 departures.
Barking passengers: We suggest you take the 09.05 departure or District Line services.

17.31 from Fenchurch Street which will no longer stop at Barking

17.28 from Fenchurch Street will now call additionally at Barking in place of the 17.31

Reason: The 17.28 service has more room for passengers whereas the 17.31 currently gets busy.

Recommendation: We suggest Barking passengers take the 17.28 departure.

17.43 from Fenchurch Street will no longer stop at Laindon

Reason: This train gets very busy and is already 12 carriages long. Laindon passengers have alternative trains 3 mins and 6 mins later which are less crowded.

Recommendation: We suggest Laindon passengers take the 17.46 or 17.49 departures from Fenchurch Street.

17.58 from Fenchurch Street will no longer stop at Upminster and the 18.01 from Fenchurch Street will now call additionally at Upminster instead

Reason: We have swapped this Upminster stop with the train behind which is less busy. This should make journeys more comfortable.

Recommendation: We suggest Upminster passengers take the 18.01

18.13 from Fenchurch Street will no longer stop at Laindon and the 18.16 will now call additionally at Laindon instead

Reason: We have swapped this Laindon stop with the train behind which is less busy. This should make journeys more comfortable.

Recommendation: We suggest Laindon passengers take the 18:16

19.02 from Fenchurch Street will no longer stop at Basildon

Reason: As this train gets very busy we've added a Basildon stop to the next train which leaves only 4 minutes later.

Recommendation: We suggest Basildon passengers take the 19.06

19.06 from Fenchurch Street will now call additionally at West Horndon, Basildon and Pitsea

Reason: As other services were getting very busy we've added in stops at these stations to give another option for West Horndon, Basildon and Pitsea customers.
