bPay

c2c now accepts bPay as another way to pay for your travel in London.

bPay by Barclarcard

What is bPay?

bPay is a new way of making payments using contactless technology without the need to present a card. At the heart of it is a pre-paid account that is used to pay at over 300,000 locations across the UK that accept contactless, for transactions up to the value of £30, including paying for travel on c2c within the TfL ‘pay as you go’ region.

It's open to anyone with a MasterCard® or Visa® debit or credit card, registered to a UK address, and users have the choice to add funds either 'on the go' using the bPay mobile app, or automatically when their balance falls below a set amount.

With a bPay you can enjoy:

  • Avoidance of card clash more easily
  • No more queuing for a daily ticket
  • No longer having to top up your Oyster card
  • Buying your morning coffee with one easy touch
  • Daily and weekly fare capping when you touch in and touch out with your bPay device each day
  • Cheaper fares within London on c2c services (compared to single and return tickets on paper)

How do I use bPay at the station?

bPay uses the same technology as your contactless debit and credit cards. Once your bPay device is activated and you have sufficient funds in your pre-paid bPay account, simply tap it on the yellow reader at the ticket barrier to touch in and touch out.

Where can I use bPay?

At present you can use bPay within the TfL pay as you go region and specifically on c2c, bPay is accepted at the following stations:

  • London Fenchurch Street
  • Limehouse
  • West Ham
  • Barking
  • Upminster
  • Dagenham Dock
  • Rainham
  • Purfleet
  • Ockendon
  • Chafford Hundred
  • Grays

How can I get a bPay device?

You can order your bPay device from the bPay website. Once you have your device, you can then use the bPay website or mobile application to activate and then manage your bPay account.

Important notes:

Anyone 12 years of age or over can apply for a bPay account.
All bPay applications are subject to application, and acceptance of the bPay Terms & Conditions.
The bPay wristband is valid for a minimum of 2 years. Once the chip expires you will not be able to use the band for contactless transactions
