Register for our free service disruption alerts

We all know how frustrating it is to get to your local station only to find that your train has been delayed, cancelled or worse.

Couple with mobile and laptop

Thankfully, c2c's excellent record means that service disruption is pretty rare. But when it does happen, we want you to be in control of your journey.

That's why we have introduced a new service that provides information directly to your mobile phone, or by email, when disruption occurs. Register for the service.

It's all about choice

c2c's disruption alert service is a free service providing real time disruption alerts via SMS to mobile phones, or email to PC/PDAs. The service provides bespoke journey information, allowing you to make informed decisions before you leave home, the office or a meeting, to make that journey.

We can't stop disruption occurring, even though it's a rare occurrence. But having information early enough gives you a choice.

Make it personal

You will need to register online for the free alert service, which can consist of SMS, email or both. You will also need to specify a time range in which you usually catch your train, as well as the route you use.

This ensures you don't hear about a train that you never catch - it's personal.

All alerts can be disabled for a period, such as when you are on holiday - you wouldn't want to receive a c2c train SMS alert while sunning yourself in Spain!

Our useful tips

Over six thousand of you have already signed up for this free service. We have had a number of customer queries regarding the alerts system and to help you get the most from this service we've devised these top tips:

  • Log-in here and ensure that the time window you've selected covers your entire journey. Please be reminded that you will not receive any SMS alerts outside of your designated time window.

  • We recommend that you receive an alert by email before you leave the office with SMS updates to follow as the system will only send 4 SMS messages within any registered alert.

  • Double check that you've registered and verified the correct mobile number.

  • If you change mobile number, ensure you change your alerts number.

  • Remember to disable the service when travelling abroad as your mobile operator could charge for receiving the SMS message.
