A sense of fun and history characterises Southend East. Take to the water at the Southend Marine Activities Centre, where you can enjoy the thrill of a jetski or explore the waters at a slower pace in a Kayak. History buffs will love Southchurch Hall, a medieval moated house only a short walk from the station. Why not take the family to Southchurch Park and enjoy a picnic or a game of cricket?
DRINKS & DINING
There are a number of restaurants along Eastern Esplanade. Check out Halfway House, Billy Hundreds and Ocean Beach - a beach bar with an enviable view of the Estuary. If you are looking for traditional fish and chips, head to Baileys.
A short walk from the station are two shopping centres - The Royals and the Victoria - that have all the high street favourites such as H&M, TK Maxx and Debenhams. The shopping centres also have independent boutiques such as Miss Wish and Lucy’s Boutique. The latter is owned by Lucy Mecklenburgh from The Only Way Is Essex.
Southend East has an exciting and varied nightlife. For indie bands big or small, Chinnerys is the place to go. If you want to dance the night away, head to SSone along Eastern Esplanade.
