Heating on trains

The ambient temperature that the system will try to maintain is 21 degrees, although this was increased to 23 degrees during the cold weather at the beginning of the year.

Each of the on board computers needs to be amended manually, and we have a dedicated member of staff at London Fenchurch Street who checks every carriage when it arrives.

They will note any faults and repair if they can, if not it is reported back to our Fleet department that day. Some of the faults require a lot of work to repair and to get to the heater grilles, some of the seats need to be removed.

If you have any comments regarding the on board environment, please contact our customer services team on 0845 744 4422, with the carriage number which can be found to the left of the on board display screen. This will help the team to isolate the carriage involved and allow our Fleet team to repair the fault quicker.
