Hyde Park

One of London's biggest and finest historic landscapes covers 350 acres, offering something for everyone.

With more than 4,000 trees, a lake and a meadow it's easy to forget that you're in the middle of London.

Opening hours: 5am until midnight all year round

Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain

The Diana Memorial Fountain is also in Hyde Park.

During the summer it's great to dip your toes into the stream or in winter just enjoy the unique fountain with a walk around the path.

Getting to Hyde Park

From London Fenchurch Street take the District line to South Kensington, then the Piccadilly line to Hyde Park Corner station.

Regent's Park

If you're looking for a lively time, this park has the largest outdoor sports area in London with 'The Hub', a community sporting pavilion and games pitches.

There's also a wildlife friendly community garden and more than 30,000 roses of 400 varieties.

Getting there

From London Fenchurch Street it's just a 16 minute Tube ride to Regent's Park station with one interchange between the District and Bakerloo lines. From the station the Park is just across the road.

Peter Pan statue in Kensington Gardens

Kensington Gardens

Kensington Gardens is planted with formal avenues of magnificent trees and ornamental flower beds.

It is a perfect setting for peaceful Italian Gardens, the Albert Memorial, Peter Pan statue and the Serpentine Gallery.

This Memorial Playground is also in Kensington Gardens, with a huge wooden pirate ship.

There's also a sensory trail, teepees and various toys and play sculptures for the kids to enjoy.

Getting to Kensington Gardens

From London Fenchurch Street it's 25 minutes on the Circle line to High Street Kensington station. It's then just a few minutes walk to the Gardens.

St James's Park

St James's Park is at the very heart of London with a lake home to ducks, geese and pelicans.

Go along at 2.30pm when the kids will enjoy watching the wildlife officers give the pelicans their daily feed.

Getting there

From London Fenchurch Street it's only 12 minutes on the Circle or District line to St James's Park station and then a 5 minute walk to the Park.
