Customers using c2c on the route between Fenchurch Street and Shoeburyness via Laindon will notice few changes from Sunday 20 May when the new timetable is introduced. The present timetable is working extremely well and helping to maintain c2c as the Train Operating Company with the highest average punctuality in the country, currently 94.1%. There are, however, a few small but positive changes.
In the morning there will be a new late peak train departing Laindon at 0930 and calling at Upminster, then all stations to Fenchurch Street.
There will be an extra early evening peak train at 1630 from Fenchurch Street to Laindon, calling at all stations. The gaps in the later evening peak services from London to Laindon will be significantly reduced by the 1900 departure from Fenchurch Street calling there, as well as by a brand new train at 1932 which will call at West Ham and all stations to Laindon.
The interchange with the Jubilee Line will become easier for passengers travelling to Basildon and beyond as the 1800 Fenchurch Street-Shoeburyness via Basildon will call at West Ham.
There will be two new late evening shuttle services between Liverpool Street and Barking. ALL other c2c services in the late evening will depart from and arrive at Fenchurch Street, making late night travel much easier for c2c customers.
Introducing the changes Managing Director Mark Hopwood said, Customer feedback and lessons learnt from the December 2006 timetable changes have resulted in small but significant improvements being made to the timetable on the route via Laindon from May this year without significantly altering our schedules which are working very successfully. The new trains for Laindon in the early and late evening, and the extra evening peak stop at West Ham will make life easier for customers, as will the extra late evening departures from Fenchurch Street.
The positive changes reflect our determination to monitor constantly the service we offer to our customers, to listen to what customers tell us about the timetable and to take any opportunity that arises to meet their aspirations. At the same time we will carry on working hard to ensure that our customers continue to receive the punctual and reliable service to which they are entitled and which they now enjoy .
