Kevin Frazer, c2c's route Director, today presented a cheque for £200 to Nigel Jones and Richard Quinn who have returned from an 84 mile sponsored walk along Hadrian's Wall to raise money for the NSPCC's Full Stop appeal to end cruelty to children.
Nigel, a long standing commuter on c2c (20 years spent travelling from Pitsea to Fenchurch Street) said, on his return: It was a really fantastic experience and well worth all the blisters!!! To see such a wonderful part of the country, get plenty of exercise and knowing it is all in a good cause was quite exhilarating.
I am really grateful to all the people who supported me, especially c2c who not only arranged our travel to and from Newcastle (through their colleagues at GNER and it was a super journey) but who also sponsored us generously.
Route Director Kevin Frazer said, It is great to have the boys back safe and sound - and no sign of those blisters in spite of what they say!!! c2c had no doubt that they would complete the course and come back to claim their reward and it is a great pleasure for me to hand over the cheque they have worked so hard to earn.
The money will be put to good use by the NSPCC and we at c2c are very pleased to have had the opportunity to join, in however, small way, this community-spirited activity that will help so many young people.
