DANCE fans can get free entry to one of Southend's top clubs if they travel there using c2c train services.

Anyone over 21 showing their c2c ticket, valid for travel that day, can have complimentary admission to Tracks in Station Road, Westcliff - a saving of up to £5 per person.

Its location, right opposite c2c's Westcliff station, makes it ideal for clubbers who want to have a great night out and avoid drinking and driving or costly taxi fares.

With the last train to the Southend, Thorpe Bay and Shoeburyness stations leaving Westcliff at 01.22 Tuesdays to Fridays, visitors can enjoy a full night out before heading for home.

c2c Marketing Manager Sara Lane said: "The c2c brand is a young and dynamic one, as is our passenger market, so it is a natural choice for us to team up with a nightclub like Tracks and start to offer these sort of deals.

"We may primarily be a commuter route, but our challenge is to grow our off-peak business and the club market, which has always been big in Essex, is an important part of that.

"We want to link traveling by rail with fun days and nights out and this is a good way to do that, as well as offering people savings and playing our part in helping to cut down on drink-driving in a positive and constructive way."

Tracks is open Tuesday to Saturday nights featuring the latest dance music and special promotion nights. Flyers advertising the free entry deal are at c2c stations and being sent out to Tracks' regulars, with random samples also including free drinks stickers.

Tracks Company Secretary Bob Blake said: "The free admission to c2c ticket holders is valid on any night except when we have a special promotion being staged by an outside agency, so it is best just to ring us first and check.

"Since we launched as Tracks in December the club has really taken off and our music schedule now includes UK and US garage, reggae, r 'n' b, hip hop, house, techno and trance music.

"With Westcliff station right opposite the club I had spent the last six months thinking of a good partnership approach with c2c, as we were such close neighbours and ideal partners and the free admission deal is the perfect solution."
