c2c confirmed as Britain’s most punctual railway
20 December 2007
With average punctuality at 94.3 per cent for the 12 months ending 31 March 2007, National Express Group’s c2c Rail has been confirmed as mainland Britain’s most punctual railway by the latest report from the ORR (Office of the Rail Regulator).
Not only did c2c top of the punctuality league for all-day services but it also topped the league for peak service punctuality with 94 per cent Although c2c has had the best MAA (moving annual average) for punctuality of all the rail companies for 25 consecutive months, the figure was a further improvement on that for the 3 months ending 31 March 2007 (93.8 per cent).
Managing Director of c2c, Mark Hopwood said, ”The latest figures from the independent ORR are a ringing endorsement of the hard work of all the staff at c2c. To be top of the national league for punctuality is a great achievement and indicates the importance we attach to providing our customers with a quality service. There is no question of resting on laurels and with 5.7 per cent to go before we reach 100% there is still work to do. Nevertheless the report underlines the work c2c has already done and leaves c2c customers in no doubt that, along with the lowest London commuter fares, they have the best service in the country. We will be doing all we can to keep it that way.”
