20,000 free tickets giveaway to celebrate new trains milestone
TO mark the fact that c2c will be the first train operator in the country since rail privatisation to have successfully introduced a complete fleet of new trains next week, the company is handing out 20,000 free tickets for travel on the route.
The Easter extravaganza will allow passengers to travel anywhere on the route for any one of four Saturdays, starting on Easter Saturday 30 March, with 5,000 tickets to be given away for each of those days.
It is a way of giving something back to people living on the route, and encouraging those who would not normally travel by rail, to experience the new, air-conditioned, high-tech trains operating on the route which offer an unrivalled level of comfort and safety, as well as the new facilities which include refurbished stations, heightened security and improved car parks.
As it is an Easter event, the Easter Bunny will be joining the promotion, travelling the c2c route all day on Easter Saturday giving out Easter eggs, masks and games for the children.
c2c has also linked up with South African Airways to offer two passengers the chance to win flights for two to South Africa and competition forms will be available at Fenchurch Street station from the evening of Tuesday 26 March.
The activity begins in earnest on Tuesday with speeches and train naming ceremony at Fenchurch Street station at 10am featuring c2c Managing Director Dominic Booth, Strategic Rail Authority Chairman Richard Bowker and TV star Sid Owen, Ricky Butcher of EastEnders fame who makes a return visit to the hit soap at Easter.
Other c2c promotions as part of the new trains celebration will be announced during April.
To obtain free tickets for the Saturday services, you need to book in advance by calling 08457 678 765. Please allow four days for delivery and there is a maximum of four tickets per household.
