c2c, Britain's most punctual railway, brought a smile to the faces of pupils from Malmesbury School when it fulfilled a promise made last year to run three special trains to Chalkwell and give the children a day out by the sea side.

From Monday 16 to Thursday 19 July inclusive, however, late night engineering work will be carried out between Upminster and Pitsea via Laindon.

With average punctuality at 94.3 per cent for the 12 months ending 31 March 2007, National Express Group's c2c Rail has been confirmed as mainland Britain's most punctual railway by the latest report from the ORR (Office of the Rail Regulator).

On the eve of World Environment Day, c2c, part of the National Express Group and Britain's most punctual railway, announces the completion of a new initiative to dramatically reduce the power consumption of its fleet of 74 electric trains.

On Sunday 3 June engineering works will take place all day between Barking and Pitsea via Rainham, and between Southend Central and Shoeburyness and buses will replace trains between these points on the route.
