Hackney City Farm

  • For more than 20 years, Hackney City Farm has been giving the community a taste of farming and its livestock.
  • You and your children can get up close to the animals and kids will also love watching feeding time usually at about 4pm.
  • Opening hours: Tues - Sun 10am to 4.30pm
  • Admission: Free

Getting there

From London Fenchurch Street take the Underground to Bethnal Green station. It's approximately a 20 minute walk to the Farm.

Inside Coram's Fields

Coram's Fields

  • Seven acres of playground in the heart of London, Coram's Field has play equipment, a duck pond, sports area and pets' corner.
  • It's also a safe environment, with adults only allowed to enter if accompanied by a child.
  • Coram's Fields is very close to The British Museum, so after a visit to the Museum, let the kids run off some energy before heading home.
  • Opening hours: Every day
  • Admission: Free

Getting there

From London Fenchurch Street it's less than 15 minutes on the Tube to Russell Square station. Once at Russell Square, it's less than 5 minutes walk to Coram's Fields.

Changing of the Guard

  • See this British classic for free.
  • The Changing of the Guard takes place in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace at 11.30am every day in summer, every other day in winter and lasts about 45 minutes.
  • Opening hours: check www.changing-the-guard.com for schedule
  • Admission: Free

Getting there

From London Fenchurch Street it's just a 12 minute Tube ride to St James's Park station, then a short walk to Buckingham Palace.

Walk along the South Bank

  • Take a stroll along the South Bank next to the River Thames, there's so much to see...
  • Tate Britain with an extensive collection of British art; Tate Modern for contemporary art; the London Eye; street entertainers; second hand book market situated under Waterloo Bridge; Shakespeare's Globe Theatre; the Millenium Footbridge; HMS Belfast; Tower Bridge; Borough Market and many more.
  • Or simply take a seat on a bench by the river and watch the world go by.

Getting there

From London Fenchurch Street it's just 10 minutes walk to the River Thames. Once there head West along the river to discover what brings so many for a stroll along the South Bank.
