Timetable changes for Thurrock from Sunday 20 May 2007

There are a number of very positive changes to c2c's timetable, as far as Thurrock is concerned, which will take effect from Sunday 20 May. These have been added to the present timetable which is working extremely well and helping to maintain c2c as the Train Operating Company with the highest average punctuality in the country, currently 94.1%.

There will be additional trains between London and Ockendon, Chafford Hundred and Grays in the early morning. Grays itself and stations via Rainham will have an additional train and there will be a better spread of service on this route during the later half of the morning peak period.

During the off-peak times, schedules remained unaltered but with an additional train at 1555 from Fenchurch Street to Grays via Rainham.

The interchange with the Jubilee Line will become easier as the 1812 Fenchurch Street-Pitsea via Rainham services will call at West Ham.

Customers enjoying a night out in London will benefit from three additional trains from Fenchurch Street. The new 2220 and 2320 services from Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness will run via Ockendon and the new 0015 service to Grays will run via Rainham. This means that most stations will be served by a train leaving London after midnight, while the last train via Ockendon and Tilbury Town will be just before midnight at 2350. There will also be two new late evening trains from Southend via Ockendon, one to Fenchurch Street and one to Barking.

There will be two new late evening shuttle services between Liverpool Street and Barking. ALL other c2c services in the late evening will depart from and arrive at Fenchurch Street, making late night travel much easier for c2c customers.

Introducing the changes Managing Director Mark Hopwood said, Customer feedback and lessons learnt from the December 2006 timetable changes have resulted in improvements being made to the timetable from May this year without significantly altering our schedules which are working very successfully. The new timetable introduces a number of additional services at key times in the morning and evening as a well as several extra late evening departures from Fenchurch Street.

The positive changes reflect our determination to monitor constantly the service we offer to our customers, to listen to what customers tell us about the timetable and to take any opportunity that arises to meet their aspirations. At the same time we will carry on working hard to ensure that our customers continue to receive the punctual and reliable service to which they are entitled and which they now enjoy .
