Record breaking Train punctuality

c2c SET NEW UK RECORD FOR TRAIN PUNCTUALITY

National Express train operator c2c has set a new UK record for train punctuality in the UK it was announced today – and staff celebrated with former Record Breakers host Cheryl Baker

97.0% of trains run by c2c were on time across the last year, according to the latest Public Performance Measure figures, the official rail industry measure for train punctuality released today by Network Rail.

c2c staff from the different teams who have helped contribute to this success celebrated at Fenchurch Street station today with former Record Breakers host Cheryl Baker, who presented them with a “medal” to mark their record breaking feats and also made a tannoy announcement to startled passengers announcing the success.

c2c Managing Director Julian Drury said: “We’re delighted to have set a new UK record and proud to have operated so many trains so punctually over such a sustained period. Everyone who works for c2c has contributed to this success, and I hope we will continue to set the standard so our passengers can enjoy the most punctual train service in the country.”

Cheryl Baker, who presented the BBC series Record Breakers for 11 years, said: “I’ve always said that dedication is what you need to be a record breaker. Everyone at c2c can be proud of what they’ve achieved, and I’m glad to see that all the effort they have put in has been rewarded with a new UK record.”
