c2c achieve Swiss-style standards with new record
c2c has set a new Passenger Performance Measure (PPM) record for all UK franchised train operators with a moving annual average of 95.8% at the end of June 2009. This is the highest-ever punctuality rating achieved by c2c over a 12-month period and also the best figure achieved by any franchised train operator in Britain. It also equals the punctuality record of Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) in the year ended 31st December 2008.
These punctuality figures are the latest in a series of firsts for c2c customers. This year, c2c achieved the top position for a franchised operator for customer satisfaction in the spring 2009 National Passenger Survey and figures have also revealed that c2c customers are travelling on the most reliable fleet of trains in the country - c2c’s Class 357 trains.
Speaking about this achievement, Julian Drury, Managing Director for c2c said:
“Everyone knows that the Swiss railways are so reliable you can set your watch by them. In the UK we are the first franchised train company ever to achieve the same Swiss standards in our train operations and we intend to improve this even further in the future. I’d like to congratulate the c2c team and our colleagues at Network Rail on this triumph.
“We will continue to focus all our efforts in maintaining and exceeding these high standards to deliver further improvements.”
c2c’s performance figures are for all trains operated in the year ended 27th June 2009. The figures are produced by Network Rail for the rail industry.
